Amazon fee changes in 2026: what US sellers need to know
FBA fees: +$0.08 per unit on average (from January 15, 2026)
Amazon said FBA fees would rise by an average of $0.08 per unit sold, or less than 0.5% of an average item's selling price, effective January 15, 2026 unless otherwise noted. This followed no increase in US referral and FBA fees in 2025. Amazon also said there would be no new FBA fee types in 2026 and at least 90 days' notice before increases. [1] [2]
3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge (from April 17, 2026)
A 3.5% fuel and logistics-related surcharge applies to FBA fulfillment fees in the US and Canada from April 17, 2026, and to Buy with Prime and Multi-Channel Fulfillment from May 2, 2026. It is calculated on fulfillment fees, not the sale price, and Amazon said it averages $0.17 per unit for US FBA. [3]
Other 2026 service changes reported
Supply Chain Dive reported Buy with Prime fulfillment fees rising $0.24 per unit on average, Multi-Channel Fulfillment fees rising $0.30 per unit on average, and AWD storage in the West region going to $0.57 per cubic foot per month, plus new inbound placement tiers and updated bulky/extra-large fee structures. [4] On 2026-11-02 Amazon's AWD program page listed that same West Coast storage base rate, $0.57 per cubic foot per month, and an East Coast, South East and South Central base rate of $0.48. What to do
- Re-run your numbers with Amazon's Revenue Calculator, which Amazon says reflects 2026 rates and the surcharge, or our FBA profit calculator.
- Recheck your break-even ACoS: higher fees lower it.
- Amazon suggests packaging, inbound shipping choices and healthy inventory levels as ways to lower fees [4].
